Formerly a strategic Cold War NATO nuclear bunker located in Cheshire, our data centre boasts physical security as impregnable as many current MoD facilities.
Two metre thick tungsten reinforced concrete outer walls and steel blast doors that can withstand a 1 megaton nuclear blast at one mile or 500 kiloton direct hit. We are located in the inner sanctum, designed to sustain life behind further blast proof walls.
Our security controlled server hosting area is hermetically sealed and linked to the world via diverse fiber optic rings that enter at different compass bearings. Continuous power is supplied by a dedicated duel fed 11KV HV fed dedicated sub-station that sits on a ring off the grid backed up by two synchronized auto-start diesel generators. We have underground fuel storage capacity for 110,000 litres of diesel with 20,000 litres currently held on site. These large fuel reserves mean we can run for protracted periods disconnected from the National Grid.
Engineers provide 365/24/7 network monitoring and support. Around the clock surveillance is provided via high resolution CCTV.
The whole ensures continuous customer visibility on the Internet.
The facility also has its own radio mast for location of microwave links, in addition to extensive roof space for the location of satellite dishes for up and down communications links.
